I created this spoof in mid July 2007. I believe it was the first mention of Sitar Hero on the net. Credit also goes to my friend Brian Kelley who said "Sitar Hero" out loud while we were playing.

To the creators and distributors of Guitar Hero, I want to say I'm a huge huge fan of your game. That's why I made the spoof and it's origins are from a place of deep respect and love of all things GH.

To those sitar players featured, I bid you a salute of respect. Keep on rockin' the chikari and baj tar.

To the fans of Sitar Hero. Wow! Thanks! The image has received hundreds of thousands of views. And that is just the ones linked to my site. I originally posted the spoof to the official Red Octane and Neoseeker forums July 2007. Got a half dozen "hey awesome!" type replies and that was that. All of a sudden in March of 2008 it started getting linked like crazy.

It's now the #2 Google image search result next to the Apu spoof the Simpsons guys did (They got the logo better, but mine came first, heh).

So far my most proud mention was on Rocket Boom. It also made the top 100 on Reddit.com. And Digg.com. And a bunch of other sites, blogs and message boards. Youtube is flush with different takes on what a Sitar Hero game would be like. Recently I found an adaptation the promoters of The Love Guru did.

***Note*** I closed my CafePress store. After almost a year they suddenly decided the above logo was a no no. /rude
